When we dream, we usually dream about current things or things in the past which have happened to us, so when you dream you see thing from a different perspective, and that is why they seem real.
Everything we dream about resembles something about us. And, when we're dreaming, we're supposedly more in tune to what's going on in our life. So, if we have a dream that makes us think about something or someone, it could cause us to feel differently than we did before, because our dreams are projecting our true feelings about that person or thing.
The images and events experienced in dreams do not "resemble" something about the dreamer, but rather "relate" to the dreamer's emotions, memories, thoughts and experiences. Dreams are produced by the subconscious mind, which has access to deeply hidden emotions and distant memories the conscious mind cannot reach. So dreams often reveal fears, concerns, and patterns of behavior of which the conscious (waking) mind has been unaware.
