Russian President Vladimir Putin has signed a new law, VPN users no more

A new law in  Russia  has been approved.


The Russian President Vladimir Putin has signed a law to prevent the used of Internet proxy services.

Which includes virtual private networks or VPN and other proxy services.

The law was signed last July 29 2017 and published by the government on July 30 2017.
This is to prevent the spread of extremist materials and ideas.

The signed law will take effect on November 1, months ahead before the March 2018 presidential election in Russia in which Putin is widely expected to run and win again a new six-year term.

On the other side, Another law has been signed where the operators of instant messaging services need to use their phone numbers to established their identity .

This law is to monitor and block the access for the unlawful content.
