Rare Disorder Smell Like Fish And Rotten Eggs

A British woman has been suffering from a bizarre medical condition, so rare that only a handful of people in Britain are believed to have the same disorder.

Ellie James was only 30 years old when she was first afflicted with a rare and embarrassing metabolic disorder Trimethylaminuria, also known variably as 'fish odor syndrome' or 'fish malodor syndrome'.

Trimethylaminuria is a disorder that causes defect in the normal production of the enzyme flavin containing monooxygenase, resulting in the body's losing the ability to properly convert trimethylamine into an oxide, and when released thru a person's breath, sweat or urine gives off strong foul or fishy odor.
