The 17-year-old daughter of comedian and TV host Jose Manalo tried to commit suicide by taking different drugs inside her rented condominium unit in Greenhills, San Juan City at around 10 p.m. of Wednesday.
Lawyer Dennis Pangan, the legal counsel of Manalo’s daughter, said the daughter of Manalo left a suicide note enumerating her reasons for taking her life, including the unfulfilled promises of her father to shoulder tuition and to provide financial support.
Last December, Manalo’s daughter filed a child abuse case against him before the Quezon City Regional Trial Court for failing to give her financial support.
When he failed to pay the next installment which was due December 1, they could not reach him. The daughter had to drop out of that school for failing to pay her tuition.
