Singer Karylle announced her engagement to boyfriend of three years, Spongecola vocalist Yael Yuzon, during the episode of "It's Showtime" aired Saturday.
Speaking alongside her co-hosts at the start of the noontime program, the 32-year-old theater actress revealed that she will marry Yuzon in March.
"Next month, we wed and the new chapter begins," she said.
Karylle tearfully recalled the first time she appeared on "It's Showtime" and the moment she decided to spend her life with Yuzon, referring to them as the "happiest and most exciting" chapter in her life.
"Not a lot of people know, some three and a half years ago, a new chapter in my life started -- the happiest and most exciting one yet. I started as a hurado here in 'Showtime' and I became part of the 'Showtime' family at kakambal po nito, dumating si Yael sa buhay ko," she said.
"It was a sunny afternoon, guest pa ako dati sa 'Pilipinas Win-Na-Win,' at kumain kami sa Mister Kebab kasi mahilig po ako sa kanin at after that we had coffee. And sinagot ko siya."
The singer went on to narrate the lessons her "Showtime" family has taught her, from how to be a better judge on the noontime program to becoming a better person.
"Little by little, my life started to change. Ryan [Bang], he taught me how to be a hurado so I wouldn't be voted out by the madlang people. I started to dream bigger because of Anne [Curtis], I learned how to share sawsawan because of Vhong [Navarro].
"I learned na si Billy [Crawford] lang ang pinaka-game sa malabo kong trip na abangan ang sunrise because he's ready to be a friend, anytime and anywhere. Teddy [Corpuz] showed me how fun it is to have a growing family, Jugs [Jugueta] showed me that he loves me even though he finds that I'm the weirdest in the 'Showtime' group.
"Jhong [Hilario] taught me to be more attentive and respectful. Coleen [Garcia] taught me that younger people have wisdom and Eric [Tai] showed me that boys with muscles have big, big hearts," she said.
Karylle also credited Vice Ganda, who was notably absent from the opening, for teaching her how to "laugh out loud" contrary to having a modest image.
